If there’s one show to go to, make it the fully staged production of the classic opera ‘Amahl and the Night Visitors’, playing at the Space Theatre,

The last time this classic Christmas tale was performed, was in 1958. Fast forward a few years, and Amahl and the Night Visitors’ is now being brought to life in 2014 by Adelaide producers Emma Knights (of Emma Knights Productions fame) and Karen Lettice (you might remember her from the award-winning and provocative SA Health flu campaign “The Sneeze”) – aka clients of Neon Moose.

This one act opera/musical (the most performed opera in the world today) recounts the exciting, amusing and life-changing events of the night Amahl, a disabled shepherd boy, receiving an unexpected visit from the Three Kings. Cue an enchanting and inspiring fable about the transformative power of love.

It’s also a celebration of South Australian creativity, as the production is produced, directed, costumed, choreographed, designed, conducted, sung and performed exclusively by Adelaide based artists.

A fairytale story that appeals to audiences of all ages, Amahl and the Night Visitors is the perfect way to introduce your children to opera. Don't miss this family treat guaranteed to put everyone in the Christmas spirit!
